 I know this type of debate/stan war has been done many a time, but I wanted to see who here on Legends Exclusive thinks Michael or Prince is better than the other. Personally I'm a huge fan of both, though I'm fairly new to the Prince fan base. I think they both grew a lot in later years musically and personally. I'm going to have to say Prince is the best though, and I say this as an MJ stan who has been his fan since I was practically born. Why do I think this? Because it really seems like Michael didn't switch things up as much as he was capable of musically and had his private life make a bit of a mess of things (*cough* the "relationship" with LMP and Debbie), while Prince just really didn't seem to give a damn about what people said and say. Maybe I'm being shallow and only looking at the tabloid mess that was part of Michael's life, but you have to admit it did affect him musically speaking, no matter how many awards he won. This is definitely not a diss - more like an analysis of the two. Maybe we can all learn more about these two wonderfully talented (*cough* Black) men.
What is your take on all of this?

I'll take up for Michael. Sure a lot of the tabloid B.S. got in the way of really being able to appreciate him and his work for some people, but I kind of feel like Michael was and still is underrated. I say underrated because many people tend to forget Michael wasn't just a singer and dancer, he was a composer, producer, model, actor, humanitarian, and so many other things.

Ya know, I've never really liked the idea of comparing the two or putting them against one another.
Prince is a musician, whereas, Michael was a singer/dancer/artist.
You can't compare the two.
I can't pick between the two of them. Michael is clearly on a higher level, globally, than Prince, but they are equally on the same level for entertainment and as far as music goes. I am and always will be a bigger fan of Michael than Prince, but to put the two against each other just irritates me lol
